HVAC SEO Services for Contractors Who Need More Qualified Leads
Ready to fill the board? Nobody wakes up wanting SEO, so RicketyRoo builds HVAC local search programs and grades them on one number: booked jobs.
You already know what a good month looks like. The board is full, replacements outnumber tune-ups, and nobody is sitting in a parking lot at 2 p.m. waiting on dispatch. That’s the thing you’re actually shopping for. SEO, rankings, and AI visibility are a path to that goal.
Get a full schedule, not another SEO report
Let’s skip the part where we explain schema markup. You’ve got a business to run, and your eyes are already glazing over. We get it.
Here’s what an HVAC SEO program is actually for:
- A calendar that holds through the shoulder seasons. Not just the week of the first heat wave, when the phone rings all by itself.
- More replacement and install work. Less windshield time on calls that were never going to close.
- Techs who stay. Good people leave when the board is thin, and the tickets aren’t worth running.
- A lead source you own. Instead of one that bills you again every time the phone rings.
- Revenue you can plan around. So adding the fifth truck stops feeling like a coin flip.
That’s the real job. Rankings, impressions, and traffic are gauges. Worth watching, and we’ll be transparent about every one of them. But you can’t make payroll out of impressions alone.
What better HVAC leads actually look like
Fewer calls. Better jobs. A markedly better month.
In January 2026, RicketyRoo ran a Google Business Profile optimization test for an HVAC client. Lead calls dropped from 227 to 133. On most dashboards, that’s a catastrophe.
Then we looked at what those calls actually did. This is the part your dashboard won’t show you.
| Metric | Before | After |
| Lead calls | 227 | 133 |
| Jobs booked | 43 | 25 |
| Completed revenue | $8,763.17 | $61,020.69 |
| Jobs booked from new customers | 27.91% | 72% |
*Four weeks before and four weeks after implementation, January 2026.
Same shop, same techs, same four weeks of the calendar. Fewer calls, and a completely different month.
That’s the whole argument for how we work. Call volume is great, but it can be a vanity metric of its own. So is a rankings report with a bunch of green arrows on it. A lead is not a job, and the number that actually makes it to the P&L is completed revenue from work you actually ran.
If your current agency can’t tell you which organic leads turned into booked jobs, they’re not measuring the thing you’re paying them for.
A $100,000 goal, doubled
Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating & Cooling came to RicketyRoo with a $100,000 year-over-year revenue goal. They finished $200,000 up, the highest annual revenue in company history.
“RicketyRoo makes sure we speak the same language. Everything—from strategy to results—is crystal clear. We know what we’re paying for and what we’re getting.” —Chris Brule, CEO, Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
Get found where your HVAC customers are actually searching
Ten blue links stopped being the whole game. Your visibility has to cover the rest.
The results page you optimized for in 2019 doesn’t exist anymore.
The homeowner with a failing furnace might find you in the map pack, in an AI Overview, in a ChatGPT answer, or in the plain old blue links. Win one and miss the other three, and you’re handing the rest of the market to whoever showed up.
At RicketyRoo, we run generative engine optimization alongside local SEO and search experience optimization, because the click is no longer the only thing worth winning. Get found everywhere, and give your customers a good experience that leads to more consistent booked jobs.
What does an HVAC SEO program actually include?
No cookie-cutter packages. Every program gets built around your markets, your service mix, and how much work you can actually take on, in three-month sprints, against where you are and where you’re trying to get. Here’s the work we tend to start with.
Local keyword research
What are homeowners typing when the AC quits at 4 p.m. on a Friday? We separate the searches that end in a booked job from the ones that end in a YouTube video and nobody calling.
Pages built for the job and the market
Do you show up in the towns you’d actually drive to, for the work you actually want? Emergency repair, planned replacement, and maintenance agreements are three different searches. We build a real page per market and per service, with substance a competitor two counties over can’t fake. You won’t see us finding and replacing city names on these key pages.
Google Business Profile and reviews
Is your profile a listing, or a lead source? For plenty of shops, it’s the first thing a homeowner sees and the last thing anybody bothers to optimize. We run it like the channel it is, and help you earn the reviews that get read thirty seconds before the call.
Technical SEO and site speed
Is your site losing calls before anyone reads a word? We handle crawl, indexation, schema, canonical tags, internal linking, and the mobile load times that quietly kill conversions on a phone in a driveway.
Links and local authority
Why does the shop across town outrank you on a worse website? Usually authority. We build topically and locally relevant links through real relationships and digital PR. No farms, no schemes, nothing you’d have to explain later.
AI and answer-engine visibility
When a homeowner asks an assistant who to call for a furnace replacement, does your name come up? That’s GEO, and it’s been a named service at RicketyRoo for a while now, not a line item we invented last quarter to look current.
Conversion testing
Traffic is nice. Booked revenue is better. RooLabs, our testing arm, runs controlled tests on real pages so we can show you which change earned the call.
Find out what your market is actually worth
We’ll look at your market, your site, your profile, and what’s already ranking, then tell you what we see in plain English, including whether search is even the right place for your money right now. We’ve written a whole post about when SEO isn’t the right channel.
Owner or marketing lead, you get the same program
If you own the shop
You want to know the money is doing something, and that somebody will tell you the truth the month it isn’t. So we report in the language of your business: clicks, calls, booked jobs, and revenue. You’ll never have to translate a sessions chart into a hiring decision.
If you run the marketing
You have to defend this line item in a meeting where nobody knows what a canonical tag is, and “organic impressions are up” won’t survive the first follow-up question. You’ll get the deliverable trail, the roadmap, and a strategist who’ll argue the plan with you on a call instead of reading a slide at you.
Know exactly what your HVAC SEO campaign is doing, every month
At RicketyRoo, we’re proud to take a no-nonsense approach to HVAC visibility. Sometimes an agency earns its keep. Sometimes it coasts and hopes you’re too busy to notice. Here’s how you’ll be able to tell which one you’ve got:
- No long-term agreements. If the work isn’t earning its keep, you should be free to walk.
- No sales reps, no BDRs. The people who pitch you are the people who do the work.
- Three-month sprints. Built around where you are now and where you want to be in a quarter.
- Every deliverable emailed by your project manager, whether we need feedback on it or not.
- A quarterly roadmap in plain English, so you always know what’s coming next.
- Revenue attribution wherever your data allows it. We’re a ServiceTitan Certified Provider, so when booked-job data lives in your CRM, we grade our own work against it instead of against a traffic chart.
Anti-experts who keep the receipts
Everybody in this business will tell you they’re an expert. At RicketyRoo, we’ve never been comfortable with the word. Algorithms change faster than anyone’s expertise, and if you’ve been burned before, it was probably by somebody who’d quietly stopped checking. So we test instead, and we show you the work.
- We’ve been skyrocketing local businesses since 2009.
- We’re a Certified Google Partner and a Moz Recommended Community Member.
- We’re a ServiceTitan Certified Provider, so we already speak the language your booked-job data is in.
- RooLabs runs controlled SEO tests and publishes the results, including the tests that flopped.
- We work with home services companies across North America, from single-location shops to multi-location brands.
Common questions about HVAC SEO
How long does HVAC SEO take to work?
HVAC businesses and their websites are all over the map, so the honest answer is that timing tracks what you’re starting with. A shop with a technically sound site and real brand awareness in its market moves faster than one that needs the foundation rebuilt first. Google Business Profile and conversion work often show movement earliest.
We won’t promise you page one by a date on a calendar, and we’d be skeptical of anyone who does. If you need booked jobs next week, paid search is the faster lever, and we’ll tell you so.
What do HVAC SEO services cost?
We work on monthly retainers, and the range is genuinely wide. Some HVAC clients invest a few thousand a month. Others run programs worth hundreds of thousands a year across dozens of markets. There are options for a range of HVAC marketing budgets.
What moves the number is how many markets you’re going after, how hard your competition spends, and how much ground your site has to make up. We scope after we look, never off a rate card, and there’s no long-term agreement attached to the answer.
Do I still need SEO if I’m running Local Services Ads?
Yes. They do different jobs. We run paid campaigns ourselves, so we’re not going to pretend otherwise. But Google’s own description of Local Services Ads is that you only pay when potential customers get in touch. Every lead, every month, for as long as you run them. Organic doesn’t reset to zero when you pause the budget.
How do you measure results — rankings or booked jobs?
Booked jobs, wherever your data lets us get there. Rankings and traffic are diagnostics we watch so we can tell you why your booked jobs moved. If your agency’s report opens with impressions, ask what those impressions did to your revenue.
Do HVAC companies still need city pages if AI is answering the questions?
More than before. AI answers get assembled from pages that clearly establish who does what, where, and how well, and yours has to be one of them. A thin page with your city name swapped in never really qualified. Now it’s also invisible to the thing summarizing your market for a homeowner who will never scroll.
Will this work for a three-truck shop?
We work with small and mid-sized businesses on purpose. We’re not trying to become a hundred-person agency, and we’d rather talk to an owner than sit through a procurement process. If you already have someone handling SEO in-house, SEO consulting gets your team a second set of eyes instead.
Let’s build you an HVAC SEO program that books jobs
Tell us your markets. We’ll tell you what’s actually winnable.
There’s no shortage of agencies who’ll sell you an HVAC SEO package and hope the invoice clears before you check the phone log.
Not our thing.
RicketyRoo ties the work to the numbers that decide whether your year was any good: clicks, calls, booked jobs, and revenue. Sometimes the honest answer is that your money belongs somewhere else this quarter, and we’ll say that too. But when search is the right channel for your shop, we’ll go get it.
Wanna find out what organic search could book for your shop?
We know why you’re here.
Ultimately, you don’t give a $hit about title tags and backlinks and localized content and core web vitals... Did your eyes glaze over yet? We get it.
Truth be told, we only care about those things because done right, they lead to clicks, calls, and customers. And that’s why you’re here, right?
Local SEO still works to attract new business and establish your brand in competitive markets. We wouldn’t be here, blabbing on about it, if we didn’t think it could help you drive revenue. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters: more customers, more revenue, more success for your business.
